Glint's Challange
I just happen to wonder that if destroyers are servants of the Ancient Dragons, why do they attack Glint's baby, who is dragon aswell? Is she related at all to ancient dragons or is she just some sort of outcast, or maybe betrayer of some sort?
Now, discuss.

Glint doesn't want to utterly wreck everything.
The destroyers do.
It makes sense, really. She obviously isn't on the ancient dragons' side.

Glint is not really on the same scale as the Ancient Dragons. If they are as cruel as the articles about them say i doubt they would care about her or her kin. Also the Destroyers that fight in Glints Challenge aint really under direct control from Primordus himself. They are under control of the Great Destroyer who appears to have set their goal to destroy anything and everything.

[QUOTE=NND]erm... as you can see in this video, according to the eotn's lore, glint isnt a dragon[QUOTE]
Glint is a Dragon of ancient age - nearly 3000 years old. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Glint
Well this says she is a dragon. But she and Kuunavang are lesser versions of the Ancient Dragons. I can't remember much but I think I can remember from somewhere that they have absolutely no relationship to the Ancients.

I think the difference is that Glint presumably works for the gods, while it seems like the ancient dragons want to become the gods.

Destroyers are not servants of the Ancient Dragons, if anything they're servants of The Great Destroyer, a general of Primordus.
As far as I know, Primordus and other Ancient Dragons as well as the Gods enter the world at around the same time, and only afterwards do the Gods create Glint as caretaker of Tyria.
So yeah, as Free Runner says, Glint is never the same as the Ancient Dragons, nor is she ever on the same side as the Ancient Dragons.
Only similarity is that they're both dragons, but that's like saying a child is same as a hardened adult criminal.
My speculation is that the Gods banished the Ancient Dragons to their sleep, therefore their eternal hatred and want to destroy whatever the Gods created.

Mayby they are just jealous of the Gods
Btw how big is Glint? Isn't she inside a single grain of sand or something?
Is the Great Destroyer like second in command in the Legion of the Ancient Dragons? The rank after Primordus.

Glint's decent-sized, definitely gigantic compared to a human. Go see her for yourself at the end of Dragon's Lair mission :P
About the same size as Kuunavang or Mallyx? I think smaller than Molotov Rocktail.

Primordus basically said "I'm taking a nap, wake me up later".
The Great Destroyer then told the Destroyers "level everything to make room for his Primordiusness". So they obeyed.
If I recall the point of the Destroyers is no specific targets against anyone, just to clear and weaken Tyria in preparation for Primordus.

According to the lore, the ancient dragons are older then the gods and far more [email protected] They can simply do as they please and are currently in a deep sleep for their own reasons. Glint and Kuunavang are very young compared to them and though are dragons, they do not qualify as ancient dragons.

The Great Destroyer is one of Primordus' generals/underlings. He fails and Primordus will later call on another general to do it's bidding.

Thus begs the question, how old are the Gods actually?
And yeah Glint is pretty big (didnt stop me and my PUG from owning her though ).
Tip: Just need to Dmg her until she tries to use Crystal Hibernation, wich you interrupt. Then just go for the kill.

Rival doesn't necessarily mean they are on equal terms in age. But possibly in power?
I am pretty sure that the Dragons are older than the Gods....yet I cannot remember where I read it.

Also, just cos they are the same species, doesn't mean they like each other. (see Humans)
And even if all the ancient dragons were baddies, they might also hate each other.
My question is, who did Glint mate with to get them eggs and baby dragons? Or did she do some reptilian asexual reproduction thing? Are all dragons female?
It's not a total joke question, if the dragons don't need to mate with each other to reproduce, then they have full justification to be direct competitors.

Glint is a dragon prophet that is over 3000 years old. She was the first creature placed on the continent of Tyria by the Gods to oversee the new world. As time went on, she was given servants - The Forgotten, to aid her in this task.
- taken from the Wiki, and as far as I know, there is no doubt about that.
She is affiliated with the 5 gods, and the Ancient Dragons are older, maybe stronger and for sure enemies of the 5 gods. They want Tyria for themselves, and do not want to have gods or humans or whatever else creatures besides them.
Their Destroyer armies are aptly named - they just destroy everything else. And Glint is a direct enemy, and being a dragon, but not an ancient dragon, she could be seen as a betrayer and ally of the enemy, thus deserving punishment even more.

How did the destroyers find that grain of sand though... That's what I'm wondering. Can they just like sense powerful magic and lock onto it?

Probably... or maybe they already knew her location from way back when she went to live in there. I wonder, did she always live in that place? Or did she used to live in the open world until humans became predominant, and much like the Forgotten, she went to hide?
In any case, we can assume that the Destroyers ''sniffing out'' her magic is the best hypothesis yet.
I can remember some ghostly hero telling me that it would take a million lifetimes to search the Desert for that tiny grain her Lair is in, but still not find it.
